New Production! César Award-winning filmmaker Guillaume Gallienne (Me Myself and Mum) will stage his first opera, with mezzo-soprano Teresa Iervolino in the title role. The Enlightenment had lit its fires throughout Europe, and Rossini’s version of Perrault’s tale of a humble servant who dreams of going to the ball is free of magic, and instead confronts the social divisions of the day to reveal the crinoline beneath the rags.
